Greymouth is an old town. The whole coast has lots of gold and some coal mines. Absolutely pouring down for first time in nearly 8 weeks.

Stopped at Hokitika, too wet for beach, so walked around jade and glass shops. Nice town.

Drove off to Harihari for coffee. Val had a very good quiche in a little tea room.

With it being wet stopped at Franz Joseph's and had a backroom tour for Rodi Kiwi and a look at Tutarta. Both endangered species. Very interesting what they are trying to do.

On to our stop at Fox Mountain View B&B. Lots of good advice from Karen. Went to a backpackers pub for dinner called The Bigfoot and it was really good.
